Jonathan Barber is a professional free-lance photographer in Cambridge, New York. His work has been published by newspapers in New York's capital region, in nearby southern Vermont, in western Massachusets, and in national circulation magazines. A primary specialty is the documentation of fine and performance art. Artists and institutions rely on his work for museum-grade images of work to be shown, collected, and sold. The extraordinary Theater Company at Hubbard Hall in Cambridge, and the Albany Civic Theatre have both used Barber's images to promote and document productions. Yoshiko Chuma's Living Room Project commissioned the photographer to document dance performances in impromptu spaces in rural upstate New York. Other clients have included Bennington College and Union College, and many artists in New York's Capital region, southern Vermont, and northeastern Massachusetts. References are available on request. "I like variety in my work, though the arts and photojournalism are my main loves. I have happily done custom portaiture, small catalogs, sports photography, evidential photographs for lawyers, and selected weddings, even a little fashion on occasion. It's all welcome." Update: As of fall, 2007, Barber is the Photography Technician in the Visual Arts Department at Bennington College. Wedding bookings are suspended until further notice.
